This course offers you the chance to study a 2 year programme that will prepare you for employment in a variety of job roles within travel and tourism. You will have the opportunity to take part in overseas work placements in countries such as Spain, Greece, Iceland and Italy as well as visiting UK tourist destinations.

You will learn about worldwide tourist destinations and tourism in the UK, as well as undertaking a work placement within the Travel and Tourism industry. You will also study specialist units investigating the cruise industry, conferences and events, and be introduced to the exciting world of adventure tourism.

Benefits/ Skills you will develop

Confidence, presentation skills, knowledge on everything aviation. As part of the course you will be required to wear a uniform at all times. This uniform is to be purchased by the students and there are strict guidelines on appearance - no facial piercing, visible tattoos etc

How you will be assessed

The course is assessed by a range of methods including assignment work and scenario based role plays as well as online assessments. Your progress will be monitored by regular tutorials with your course tutor.

Entry requirements

You will be required to have 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C (7-4) - preferably to include English and maths.

What's next

This programme provides an excellent entry route onto a Foundation Degree programme or offers you a range of employment opportunities to work as a travel agent, resort representative, business travel consultant, to work in both UK and overseas hotels, tour operations, event management or work within the cruise sector.
